Founder

My name is Christina Hanssen

A 23-year-old dancer based in Oslo and its surrounding areas. As an artist, I am driven by ambition, determination, and a deep commitment to creating meaningful art, both for myself and those around me. Through dance, I explore the boundaries of the physical and technical, constantly seeking to challenge the limitations of the art form.

My choreographic practice is grounded in the belief that many of the constraints we encounter are often self-imposed, and I strive to transcend these through movement and creative expression. With Chry Production, my goal is to establish a platform for dancers who can convey a combination of technical excellence and artistic depth to a wide audience. The ambition is to create a space where creativity and quality coexist, and where dance serves as a powerful medium to inspire and move the audience on a deeper level.

Background

My dance career began at an early age and has since evolved through various prestigious platforms. I started my formal dance training early, which led to participation on the national dance team, as well as roles in well-known musicals such as Billy Elliot and Pippi Longstocking, produced by Scenekvelder. During this period, I realized that my ability to push myself, both physically and technically, was exceptional. Consequently, I devoted significant time and effort to my development as a dancer, training at 2dance and joined the national team in Performing Arts as well as the talent program at Bårdar.

My formal education continued at the national ballet program at Edvard Munch High School, followed by Spin Off Forstudium in dance, and eventually completing a BA in Dance Art at Kristiania University College. Parallel to this seven-year educational journey, I also developed my artistic practice as a choreographer.

A significant turning point in my career came when I joined Studio Step Up just before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here, I played a key role in building a community of dancers aged 7 to 20. These dancers have now grown into technically strong and unique performers. Over the past few years, I have choreographed more than one hundred dance pieces, forming the foundation of my current choreographic work.

Additionally, for the past three years, I have both danced and choreographed the opening show for the Norway Cup, an event with over 30,000 spectators and live-streamed on VG TV. I have also worked on choreographic projects for the Move Dance Festival's outdoor performances and participated in their collective performance *Uttrykk*, showcased on their stage. Furthermore, I have choreographed for the Nordic Main Conference’s sports gala held at City Hall, and recently received support from Trafo for a dance film project.
